Stress and anxiety are often felt in the body as tightness.  This tightness is unconsciously registered by the brain as the feeling ‘I am uptight’ which feeds back into the general feeling of stress. It is important that any plan for stress reduction includes massage to take the tension out of the tight muscles and reduce the feedback from the body.

Areas massage would concentrate on would be the shoulders and neck (these hold the feelings of frustration and lack of control) and the abdomen (nervous tension and anxiety)
